The Total Lunar Eclipse of January 20-21st 2000 was photographed under clear, crisp skies from the parking lot of Lymax Earth, Sky & Astronomy's store located in Independence, Missouri , USA. Working off a LosMandy CG-8 polar alligned mount the Celestron C-5 (f10) at prime focus held a Nikon F camera body with Fuji color negative film asa 400. Phase exposures were made at 250th of a second. Totality shots were 8 second exposures. All photos (C)2000 by Vic & Jen Winter / ICSTARS Astronomy.
As the moon rose shorty before the eclipse the sky was
filled with high cirrus clouds and thick con trails. An hour before 2nd contact it cleared completely.
