Glasses depict the effect seen when the sun is finally completely covered by the moon in an effect called, "The Diamond Ring", both coming into totality at the point of "Second Contact" and again at "Third Contact".  The last bits of bright white light shine through the mountain valleys of the moon and are also called Baly's Beads.  During this phase, ruby red prominences can also be seen.
