Comet Hyakutake 1996 (B)
After visually detecting a "chunk" of material detaching from the
core of the comet, Tom, with a short exposure, captured
the event at 12:17 a.m.
Photographed by Tom Martinez with the Observatory 30 inch f5 reflector
at prime focus with an 8 second exposure.
Fuji 400 asa color negative film.
Location: Powell Observatory located 35 miles south of Kansas City,
