Comet Hyakutake 1996 (B)
A quiet pond reflects some stars and Venus as the comet sinks into the Kansas City sky glow. A distorted Orion appears on the left... Venus is located in the middle of the frame and Hyakutake to its right. Photographed by Vic Winter with a 20mm lens with a tripod exposure of 5 minutes on Fuji Super G 400 ASA Color Negative film. Exposure began at 9:35 p.m. C.D.T. on April 9th, 1996. Clear skies. Location: Elmcrest Observatory located at Powell Botanical Gardens, east of Lone Jack, Missouri, USA. (C)1996 Vic Winter.
