The 1998 Perseid Meteor Shower

16mm Time Exposure of the Perseids (C)1998 Vic Winter/ICSTARS Astronomy

A 15 minute exposure with a Nikon F3 / 16mm lens at f2.8 on Fuji 200 asa color film. Three meteors are visible in the frame photographed at about 10:15 p.m. CDT, August 11th, 1998 on the grounds of Powell Gardens, located 35 miles east of Kansas City, Missouri, USA. A bright -1 mag meteor can be seen on the far right edge of the frame. The smaller twin, -1 mag meteors in the upper middle of the frame were seen within 30 seconds of each other.
