Cropped from  8mm All-Sky photographs, the train left by a Leonid fireball that streaked across the sky at 1:45 CST on the morning of November 17, 1998 at Powell Observatory near Louisburg, Kansas, located about 30 miles south of Kansas City was visible to the naked eye for more than 25 minutes. The fireball was estimated to be about  -12 magnitude in brighness. (Brighter than a full moon!) Note the two faint meteors that streaked into the frame in almost the same spot in different exposures. Exposures range from 5 minutes to 15 minutes on Fuji 800 asa color negative film, shot with a tripod mounted Nikon F3 and a Nikkor 8mm lens wide open at f2.8.
