Vic Winter runs the
solar observatory located in Roeland Park, Kansas. (A sleepy suburb
of Kansas City, USA. The Observatory has an f15 Dedicated Hydrogen
Alpha Solar Telescope. The telescope is currently being renovated,
but is expected to be up and running soon. Images are fed to a
high resolution ccd camera and then either captured directly into
a computer or stored on 8mm video tape.
Images can be found in the Solar Images section.

Charles Douglas
is the Chief Assistant of the Solar Observatory (and just happens
to live next door). Chuck has a Questar and a Daystar Hydrogen
Alpha filter. He is retired and seems to have much more time during
the day to observe the sun than I do. You will be seeing many
of his H-Alpha images captured and presented in the Solar Images section.
